School Meals
Lunchtime is an important time of the school day, where children enjoy a healthy meal together. We have our own cook who prepares a healthy two course school dinner everyday from fresh ingredients, along with freshly baked bread. Our emphasis is on promoting a healthy, varied diet. NYES Catering service provides school meals to school and all menus can be found here:

PACKED LUNCHES
A high proportion of our pupils have school dinners every day, which can be paid for on a weekly or termly basis. For those children who prefer to bring in packed lunches, we still encourage these to be healthy and well balanced, and must follow our food policy. All of our pupils, including those with packed lunches, eat together in our school hall.
SNACKS
We encourage a healthy diet in our school, and do not allow our children to bring sweets onto our premises. As part of a Government Scheme, all children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 are provided with a fruit or vegetable snack for morning break. Children in other years are encouraged to bring in their own fruit or healthy snack from home.
FREE SCHOOL MEALS
Free school meals are available to children in EYFS and KS1 and for all whose parents are in receipt of one or more of the following benefits in KS2:
- income support
- income-based job seeker's allowance
- income-related employment and support allowance
- child tax credit with an income of less than £16,190 and not in receipt of working tax credit

- guarantee element of state pension credit.
Where parents are entitled to working tax credit during a four week "run on" period immediately after their employment has ceased, or after they have started to work less than 16 hours per week, their children are entitled to free school meals.
Children who receive income support or income based jobseeker's allowance in their own right are also entitled to free school meals.

Cool Milk
In line with the New School Food Plan legislation, the school has a milk scheme which is administered by Cool Milk. Free milk will be provided daily to all children under 5 and school will register these children with the scheme when they start Reception. For those children over 5, please see the link here.
